Jonathan Cortez, Ph.D.

Dr. Jonathan Cortez is presently the Provosts’ Early Career Postdoctoral Fellow of Borderlands History in the Department of History at The University of Texas at Austin. They research, write, and speak about the history of immigration camps along the southeren U.S. border from the late 19th century to the present. They received their Ph.D. from the Department of American Studies at Brown University in May 2021.
